Up in Soldad Canyon last month, about an hour north of LA, these were my morning meditation companions. I miss them already!

Oh, and here's Scootie, just in case you we're wondering what a Scootie was.....
and, actually his given name is Scooter, but he doesn't seem to mind the
abbreviated version.....
Still in the desert.....can you tell? Think I got a little too much sun today....anyways.....
This movie Bucket List --Oh my Lord,
I arrived early yesterday for an appointment and decided to read the paper, something that I haven''t done in quite a bit (you know, at this RV park they actually put the paper on your front step- love that-and the reason I had a paper to read in the first place.) We don't have our satelite hooked up in the RV and dont watch TV really, and I was suprised to see that there was a new movie out with Morgan Freeman in it. My absolute favorite actor. (He had me at Shawshank).
I made a note to see the movie that night.
As a busy day would have it, I forgot all about my morning intention when Mum from England called to tell me that he saw the most amazing movie in Budapest the other day called the Bucket List. Get Out.
Okay, the Universal-inner reflected-wink saying get your hiney to a theater. It wasn't to find a theater where it was playing, and in fact I had gotten a little lost in Palm Desert during our conversation and had pulled right up to a theater and made a note of the time it started that night.
Went to see it. Was blown away. To say I loved it would not even begin to say it. What would say it, is to share the fact that I could not stop crying all the way home. (Got lost again, so it was quite a good long cry.) (How can one possibly get lost so much, especially if they have a gps- I always forget to make the turns, and, well, anyways...)
Gut wretching, heaving, air sucking sobs. And, I couldn't even tell you why specifically. The joy and gratitude that was felt was full tilt though. I have a sense that maybe one of the reasons is that it confirmed what has been coming lately, as to what makes life worth living, what is really important, and, that I could answer yes to the two Egyptian dead person's questions. (Sorry, you have to see the movie.)
It did remind me of the promise that I made to myself when I felt trapped in an abusive marriage years ago, that if I was ever given a second chance, which seemed utterly impossible at the time, that I would live. That I would not waste a moment. Yeah. That was it. That was the thing that brought up so much gratitude. I never in a million years could have dreamt what awaited me, lying in the bed, wanting to die. I didn't know I was living in a dream, or what life actually even was.
Wow. Amazing what a movie can bring up....
We'll be talking about this movie just a bit in relation to the book 5 wishes by Gay Hendricks on the radio show on books this Sunday night on Sedona Talk Radio http://sedonatalkradio.com/content/view/92/148/
If you'''d like, join the conversation on favorite books at 7pm pacific time. We'll have to do one on movies soon too!!
Until then.......the adventure continues....
