Bet You Can't Eat Just One
Okay then.
Took a little break from blogging there, but definitely not from gathering material, aka living.
We're in the final days of escrow and am feeling very good about the whole deal. You know, house on wheels. Letting go of most of what I own. Just watching all of the questions, of, how on earth is this going to work out? What are we going to do? Just letting them float by, and if the consciousness does get snagged by one of those, it's relatively soon that it is realized and the choice is made to come back Home. There is no place like Home.
I have begun facilitating a 6 week class/support group on living organic foods in Huntingnot Beach www.thelivingtemple.com and we had a class last night. It is based on the book by Victoria Boutenko called 12 Steps to Raw Foods www.rawfamily.com
The book itself is based loosely on the twelve step program when Victoria went with a friend to an AA meeting and began to see why people who were very willing and motivated to stay on a living food diet weren't able to. The reasearch is compelling as well in regards to the fact that wheat, milk, and meat contain opioid peptides, and yes, that would be the same compound as in opium. I used to joke and say that when I had been eathing raw for a while and have something cooked, especially with sugar, the effect felt like nothing short of taking heroine. Heroine being one of the things I didn't get into in my 'past life', but staring off into space and almost drooling. It was a powerful effect.
So, it is helpful for those who have experiemented with this way of eating and have come to love the incredible energy, clarity and joy it has the potential to bring to the body, and subsequently the mind- it is helpful to understand that it might not just be an emotional comfort that someone is after, but a physical one as well. This is not to mention the fact that MSG is highly addicting and has been shown in studies to cause obesity in rats and that this ingredient is added to much of the fast food and junk food. Bet you can't eat just one. The average person won't and can't mostly because they aren't even aware there is a problem. The problem is that when you cook food you destroy much of the nutritional value and all of the enzymes. Each natural food comes complete with it's own enzyme. When food is cooked 100% of the enzymes are destroyed and enzymes from the body have to be used to digest the food. Enzymes that are supposed to be used for reparing tissues of organs and keeping the body disease free are used to digest food.
